Conrad Seidl is a beerwriter based in Vienna writing under the pen-name Bierpapst. He has written more than 30 books on beer in German including „Conrad Seidls Bierkatechismus“ on beer-styles and beer history. His annual „Bier Guide“ is the Good Beer Guide to Austria. He has also contributed to lots of interantional publications like „Beer Hunter – Whisky Chaser“ (a tribute to Michael Jackson), „Beer – Eyewitness Companion“ (edited by the late Michael Jackson) and „The Oxford Companion to Beer“ (edited by Garret Oliver).
He conducts tastings, beer dinners and semiars both for consumers and marketers. Conrad’s writings appear in „Der Standard“, „Falstaff“, „Meiningers Craft“, „Brewer’s Guardian“ and „Der Getränkefachgroßhandel“ to name a few. He has judged at the most prestigious beer competitions including the World Beer Cup (USA), (USA), the Brewing Industry International Awards (UK), the Beer International Recognition Awards (Israel), the New Zealand Beer Award, the Helsinki Beer Festival (Finnland) and the Mondial de la Biere (France and Canada).
